A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...

It is 300 years after the now famous and infamous events surrounding Darth Vader and his childeren, Luke and Leia. Indeed, that was a dark time for the galaxy but with the ressurection of the Jedi Order came a new hope and prosperity for the Republic and its many peoples.

The mosts noticable change has occured in the Jedi Order itself. Not wanting to repeat the mistakes of it's past, the Order has become exceedingly strict with it's knights by reverting to the old ways.
--- A child must begin his training before the age of five.
--- A child must become apprenticed to a Master or Knight of high standing by the age of thirteen.
--- A knight must adhere to the strictist of moral codes. To do otherwise would risk censure, imprisonment, or in extreem cases, breaking of all connection to the Force.
These guidlines are indeed strict but acceptable. No one can simply become a Jedi in their spare time. The fact that there are still so few means all must work harder to contain the everpresent darknesses in the Galaxy.

Since the day Leia Organa Solo stepped down as the Leader of the Galactic Senate, the Jedi have not strayed far from politics. In fact, the recently elected Supreme Chancelor is a Jedi Knight of the Noblist standing. Indeed, all jedi liasons to the senate have proved to be champions of truth and honor.

Since the days of Luke Skywalker, four jedi schools have been built. Four "clans" have trained this, the New Order of Jedi.

The Praxium

"The Skywalker Clan"
Yavin Four

Destinguished by their blue sabers, the jedi from this academy, founded three hundred years ago by Luke Skywalker himself, remains the most prestegious. They accept only the most powerful of applicants and graduate the most skilled of all jedi. Even those who have dealt with jedi before would think twice before tangling with a knight wielding a shimmering blue lightsaber.

Since the days of Master Luke, a Skywalker has always sat at the head of this school. The current Master is Ostun Skywalker, who is also one of the most influential members of the Jedi Council.

The Solo Academy

"The Solo Clan"
Couruscant

Founded by the great Jacen and Jaina Solo, this academy is the friendly rival of the Praxium. Although the Solos and Skywalkers have stood together side by side in many battles, the squabbling of the heads of the two clans is infamous.

The Solos and their students have always prefered a more passive approach compared to the Praxium's more action oriented teachings.

The Solo Academy students are recognized by their crimson blades ih honor of the first Solo Jedi, Leia Organa Solo. The Academy is led by the Council Member and Solo decendent, Ness.

The Wander Academy

"The Wander Clan"
Van Door

Led by Vico Wander, the wisest and most elder member of the Jedi Council, this school is known to be the most relaxed of all the academies. They have no formal campus, instead prefering to roam around Van Door, a world known for it's wide variety of climates and cultures. Although no one is sure, the unique nomadic ways of this clan is thought to be where the surname, Wander, originated.

Wander students are known for being far more rooted in nature than other jedi, prefering to fight with natural elements instead of weapons, but this is by no means a given.

Distinguished by their green blades, two prominent students of this school are Kaz Maekon and Vin Wander, the son of Vico.

The Temple of Light

"The Sim-Tin-Mara Clan"
Wimara

The origins of the Sim-Tin-Mara school is clouded in mystery, even to the Jedi Council, though some have theorized that it was founded by Kyp Durron who dissapeared from all Republic reacords some 270 years ago.

Led by council member, Xane Mox, they have remained a quiet presence in the Republic. Their students are known to be master craftsmen and artists, but few have been seen in battle. Some on the Council, including Ostun Skywalker consider the Temple to be dead weight but other more even headed members consider the Sim-Tin-Mara to be a much needed anchor of peace and ever present light during turbulent times.

In most cases a Temple Knight can be distinguished by a yellow blade, but this is not always the case.
